Use your current cameras to stop theft.

How do you consistently monitor all these cameras?

FAQs

What is Veesion?

Veesion is a plug and play Al computer that turns any retail store's existing cameras into a system that actively monitors for and stops shoplifting. It’s currently putting a stop to shoplifting in over 3,400 stores and trusted by 7-Eleven, TrueValue, IGA grocery stores, ACE Hardware and thousands of others.

No facial recognition

The Al uses sophisticated algorithms to detect specific behaviors associated with theft, such as concealing items, unusual movements around merchandise, or suspicious interactions.

Maximum visibility

Veesion provides complete visibility of shoplifters. Meaning, the day a retailer turns it on, shoplifters finally become visible to them (as long as they are visible to their cameras). It offers real-time, continuous and precise theft monitoring of all merchandise.

Plug-and-Play

The mini Al computer, produced by Intel and equipped with Veesion's Al software package, is shipped ready-to-use. Simply connect two wires to your existing camera system and you’re ready. An internet connection is needed for the system to send alerts to designated store employees.

Smart Alerts

Near-zero false alerts. Store staff can immediately see video footage to visually confirm any detected incidents. It so accurate, it can even tell if someone eats food inside a store without paying for it.

Regulations

Generally, if a store has security cameras in place, it’s assumed that they’re already complying with any local regulations (e.g., surveillance notification stickers on store doors). To comply with privacy and consumer protection laws and prevent the algorithm from discriminating against race, gender, or a protected class, the system does not ascertain biometric information — only behavior and gestures.

Studies show that thieves often return if not caught, becoming more emboldened and steal more frequently. There is no real-time visibility into theft incidents, leaving retailers unaware of when and how much merchandise is being stolen, until inventory is assessed.

And, in spite of many retailers' attempts to use their camera systems to deter theft, their systems typically only end up functioning as an investigative tool, after-the-fact.

For these reasons, Veesion has become a must-have for all retailers.

The History of Veesion

Veesion is a Paris based AI company founded in 2018. The company’s three founding partners, graduates of HEC business school and École Polytechnique engineering institute, have developed behavior recognition technology for video footage.

This software draws upon the latest advances in Deep Learning to automatically detect in real time any suspicious body gestures associated with shoplifting. It can be installed in any physical store, in any retail sector, and works using the store’s existing security cameras.
